莫里斯·切瓦力亚，法国演员，卡巴莱歌手，以标志性的船夫帽、西装和浓浓的巴黎腔为人所知。切瓦力亚生于巴黎，早年在巴黎的音乐厅演唱，也尝试在法国的喜剧片中饰演一些小角色。1929年，他来到美国谋生，并进入纽约齐格飞歌舞团。有声电影兴起后，他与派拉蒙影片公司签订电影合约，主演了多部恩斯特·刘别谦指导的影片，如《璇宫艳史》《驸马艳史》《红楼艳史》《风流寡妇》等。其中，切瓦力亚凭借在《璇宫艳史》中的出色表演入围第3届奥斯卡金像奖最佳男主角。1958年，切瓦力亚主演的电影《金粉世界》斩获第31届奥斯卡金像奖9个奖项，他本人也获得了奥斯卡特别成就奖。切瓦力亚作为歌舞片常青树，在其漫长的演艺生涯中也推出过不少热门歌曲，如 "Livin' In The Sunlight" "Valentine" "Louise" "Mimi" "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" 等。值得一提的是，1970年，切瓦力亚还以84岁的高龄为动画片《猫儿历险记》献唱了片头曲"The Aristocats"。

Sunday, November the 20th is the anniversary of Marcel Dalio's death in 1983. It was the end of a serendipitous life. You know him. He was a citizen of the world. Born Israel Moshe Blauschild, in Paris, in 1900, he became a much sought-after character actor. His lovely animated face with its great expressive eyes became familiar across Europe. He appeared in Jean Renoir's idiosyncratic "Rules of the Game" (La règle du jeu (1939)) and "Grand Illusion" (La Grande Illusion (1937)), arguably the greatest of all films. True to his Frenchman's heart, he married the very young, breathtaking beauty Madeleine Lebeau. He worked with von Stroheim and Pierre Chenal. He had it all.

But then the Germans crushed Poland, swept across Belgium and pressed on toward Paris. He waited until the last possible moment and finally, with the sound of artillery clearly audible, with Madeleine, fled in a borrowed car to Orleans and then, in a freight train, to Bordeaux and finally to Portugal. In Lisbon, they bribed a crooked immigration official and were surreptitiously given two visas for Chile. But on arriving in Mexico City, it was discovered the visas were rank forgeries. Facing deportation, Marcel and Madeleine found themselves making application for political asylum with virtually every country in the western hemisphere. Weeks passed until Canada finally issued them temporary visas, and they left for Montreal.

Meanwhile, France had fallen and, in the process of subjugating the country, the Germans had found some publicity stills of Dalio. A series of posters were produced and were then displayed throughout the city with the caption 'a typical Jew' so that citizens could more easily report anyone suspected of unrepentant Jewishness. The madness continued. Entrée des artistes (1938), a popular film, was ordered re-edited so that Dalio's scenes could be deleted and re-shot with another, non-Jewish, actor.

外号「瘦皮猴」的法兰克・辛纳屈出生于1915年12月12日，1939年起先后加入Harry James、Tommy Dorsey乐团担任主唱，1942年以个人名义单飞开始了超过半世纪之久的演艺生涯。辛纳区先后与多组大乐队合作，创造了成串的畅销单曲、专辑，得奖记录亦不胜枚举，葛莱美流行男歌手或传统流行演唱奖多非他莫属，1959、1965、66三次拿下年度专辑，1966年的"Strangers In The Night"同时是年度最佳单曲；五十岁那年已经获得了葛莱美终生成就奖的殊荣。 　　

不仅歌唱方面，辛纳区自1941年投身大银幕，五零年代逐渐成为剧情片中要角，总计他在四○至六○年代参与演出电影超过五十部（不含音乐纪录片），主演类型包括动作、战争、悬疑、文艺…，1953年以【乱世忠魂】（From Here To Eternity）得到奥斯卡最佳男配角，2002年上映，由乔治．克隆尼、布莱德．彼特等多位大牌合演的【瞒天过海】正是辛纳区1960年的旧片重拍。1998年5月14日辛纳区因心脏病病逝，享年83岁。

由于他在歌唱、电影甚至整个娱乐事业的卓越表现，法兰克・辛纳屈因此被誉为「二十世纪最伟大的艺人」。法兰克・辛纳屈1957年已拥有自己的电视音乐节目，1961年进一步创立Reprise唱片公司（1963年之后隶属华纳），此后自演唱、生产、行销至宣传，辛纳区都可一手掌握。辛纳区的音乐大致可以唱片公司分三个时期，早期Columbia、五○年代在Capitol，以后是Reprise时代（九零年代两张「友情对唱」专辑再回到Capitol发行），有些曲目是上述三个时期都灌录过，只是演唱版本不同。
